Food Security with special Reference to Pakistan
By
Jahangir Khan Khalil
Food Security with Special Reference to Pakistan is written with aim to provide a reasonably comprehensive assessment of the multiple facets of food and nutrition security with particular reference to Pakistan. The book is intended to be used as a resource book by the large number of different people who are involved in activities aimed at ensuring food security. It attempts to define food and nutrition security more closely and contrasts the two terms "food security" and "nutrition security." In particular, by coupling consideration of a hygienic environment, adequate health services, and knowledgeable care with existing understanding of food security, a broader concept of nutrition security and a better practical understanding in the human welfare has been presented. It also identifies the key conceptual determinants of food and nutrition insecurity and discusses key indicators for the measurement of food and nutrition security.
